I am fascinated to see how the rise of computation is impacting our society, and particularly the algorithms that are increasingly determining our future & our opinions.
In one example, algorithm-driven personalised news can surround us with information that generally agrees with our existing opinions. This creates a pretty scary feedback effect, where one’s opinions are no longer easily calibrated against the backdrop of the rest of the people out there.
